Beautiful sofa! Difficult shipping...
The sofa is beautiful and the perfect size for my smaller room! It's quite firm, which I find very comfortable, and the cushions seem like they will hold up well over time. (Those who prefer a softer cushion may not like this style.) The velvet textured fabric is very pet-friendly as well. It virtually repels cat fur and is by far the easiest fabric in my house to vacuum and keep clean. Overall, the sofa is high-quality and very well made. The build updates were a nice touch as well!
The only thing that keeps me from giving this sofa five stars is the lengthy process it took to receive an undamaged sofa. I placed my initial order in April and was supposed to receive the sofa in early July. Unfortunately, it got stuck in shipping for over a month and arrived in mid-August with significant damage to both the fabric and the wooden base. The Joybird representatives were very helpful and responsive when I reported the issues, and they immediately put a replacement sofa in the works that was scheduled to arrive in late September. I received the replacement in late October with the fabric intact but with considerably more damage to the wooden base than there had been on the first sofa. The Joybird customer service team was again very responsive and helpful when I reported the issues. They put in an order for a new base to be built and shipped to me, and they then hired a "furniture medic" to come out to my house and attach the new base to the existing upper portion of the sofa. The work was completed in early December, and everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. The new base still has a very small spot of damage on one corner, but I am planning to touch it up myself with a little bit of matching wood stain. In the end, I am very happy with the sofa and with the customer service team's friendly approach, and with some changes to their packaging/shipping plans for this model, it would definitely be a five star product.
